Effective Treatment for Wrinkles and Excessive Sweating
What is Botox?
Botox (botulinum toxin) is a neurotoxin used for medical and aesthetic purposes. It is best known for its cosmetic use – reducing wrinkles and rejuvenating the face. It is also used to treat various medical conditions such as migraines, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), tics, and muscle disorders.
How does Botox work?
Botox blocks the signals that nerves send to muscles, preventing them from contracting. This causes the muscles to relax, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and giving the skin a smoother, more rested look.

The result is a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
Aesthetic Applications of Botox
- Wrinkle reduction
On the forehead, around the eyes, between the eyebrows, and around the lips.
- Treatment of hyperhidrosis
Reducing excessive sweating in the armpits, hands, feet, and face.
- Treatment of migraines
Reducing the frequency and intensity of migraines.
- Muscle disorders
Relaxing overly tense muscles in cases of spasticity, tics, and pain.
- Treatment of blepharospasm
Relaxes the muscles around the eyes and prevents spasms.

How is Botox applied?
Botox is administered through injections into specific points on the face or body. The procedure lasts between 10 and 30 minutes, and patients can resume their daily activities immediately. No recovery is needed, but it's recommended to avoid massaging the treated areas and to refrain from intense exercise.
- Quick results
Effects become visible within 3–7 days.
- Minimally invasive
Injections instead of surgical treatments.
- Long-lasting effect
Results last from 3 to 6 months.
- Fast return to daily activities
No postoperative recovery.

The result is a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
What to do after Botox:
- Stay upright:
Avoid lying down or bending your head forward (e.g., bending over) for 4–6 hours after the treatment to prevent Botox from spreading to unwanted areas.
- Gentle muscle movement:
You may gently activate the treated muscles (e.g., frown or smile slightly) if recommended by your doctor, as this may help with even distribution of the Botox.
- Follow your doctor's instructions:
If your doctor has given you specific advice (e.g., cooling the area or taking certain medications), follow it strictly.

What to avoid after Botox:
- Do not touch the treated area:
Avoid massaging, rubbing, or applying pressure to the area where Botox was injected for at least 24 hours, as this may cause the toxin to spread to neighboring muscles.
- Avoid physical activity:
Skip intense workouts, running, or any activity that causes sweating or increases circulation for at least 24–48 hours.
- Avoid heat exposure:
Do not expose yourself to high temperatures, including saunas, steam baths, hot showers, or sunbathing for at least 24–48 hours.
- Avoid alcohol and certain medications
Alcohol and blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen) can increase the risk of bruising. Avoid them for 24 hours or as advised by your doctor.
- Avoid makeup:
Do not apply makeup to the treated area for at least 24 hours to prevent irritation or infection.
- Avoid facial treatments:
Do not undergo facial massages, peels, laser treatments, or other procedures on the face for at least 1–2 weeks after Botox, unless approved by your doctor.

The result is a more youthful and refreshed appearance.
Possible Side Effects:
- Mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection site (usually disappears within a few days).
- Headache or a feeling of heaviness in the treated area (rare).
- If you notice more serious symptoms (e.g., difficulty swallowing, breathing, or facial asymmetry), contact your doctor immediately.
When to expect results:
- Botox effects usually become visible 3–7 days after the treatment, with full results visible after 10–14 days.
- The effect lasts 3–6 months, depending on the individual and the treated area.
Additional tips:
- Stay hydrated and keep your skin moisturized.
- Scheduling the next treatment before the Botox wears off can help maintain results.
- If you have any concerns or questions, consult your doctor.

When is the right time to start Botox?
- Spasticity
- Tics
- Involuntary eye muscle movements (blepharospasm)
