Treatments for Removing the Effects of Acne – Scars and Hyperpigmentation:

Types and Forms of Acne

Understanding the type of acne you have is a key step in choosing an effective treatment. At the Cosmo Derm dermatology clinic in Novi Sad, we take an individualized approach to each client because we know that acne is not a universal problem. There are multiple forms and severities of acne, and each requires a different therapeutic approach.

Comedonal Acne

This is the mildest form of acne. Open comedones (blackheads) and closed comedones (whiteheads) occur when pores become clogged with sebum and dead skin cells.

Papules and Pustules

This is the inflammatory phase of acne. Papules are red, painful bumps without pus, while pustules are similar but have a pus-filled tip. This form requires control of bacterial infection and inflammation.

Cystic and Nodular Acne

This is the most severe form of acne, manifested by deep subcutaneous nodules and cysts. These lesions often leave scars and do not respond to superficial treatments, so combined methods are applied – including PRP, microneedling, and targeted drug therapy.

Hormonal Acne

They most commonly occur in women on the lower third of the face (jawline, chin) and are associated with the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Acne Caused by External Factors

To lock in results and provide additional care, in accordance with the skin type.
